Vincent has made these wonderful Xmas tree macaroons filled with the salted caramel.  They’ll go on sale tomorrow evening at the store.  Enjoy.

Photo of the Day: Tiramisu Mousse!

December 11, 2010

Inspired by the flavors of tiramisu, we dropped these desserts off at a private party along with some mini-chocolate bread puddings and an assortment of French macaroons.  These consist of a biscotti crust, espresso mousse, mascarpone and some coffee & amaretto-soaked bisquit cuillere in the middle.

Photo of the Day: Butternut Squash Macaroons!

November 17, 2010

I love it when they look like this, without the tops…. Would it be weird to say that it vaguely reminds me of the Fisher Price toy rings?  Anyway, these are the butternut squash macaroons with maple caramel centers in the middle of assembly.

Photo of the Day: Chocolate Show!

November 16, 2010

OK, not exactly my best photo, but damn if it wasn’t one of the highlights of the Chocolate Show – getting to meet Chef Vicki Wells!

Photos of the Day: More New Items!

November 7, 2010

These guys have been selling from our store’s display case for about a week now, but I haven’t had a chance to post about them.  Basically, we’ve introduced 3 larger versions of what we had been offering before: carrot cake, chocolate tart and tiramisu tart.

The following are brief descriptions for these items, which are about good 4 inches across and $5 each.

The carrot cake is straightforward with cream cheese frosting, cranberries and caramelized pecans on top.

The chocolate tart is like a heavenly hybrid between a  souffle and chocolate flourless cake.  Sounds counter-intuitive, I know, but I’m sticking to it.

The tiramisu tart has a shortbread crust on the bottom, ladyfingers soaked in coffee and a little amaretto, espresso mousse and marscarpone mousse.

These are store exclusives.

Stay tuned for a post about our new $6 fall desserts, a pavlova with quince and grapefruit and a butternut squash-filled crepe suzette.

Photo of the Day: Hot Mulled Cider!

November 4, 2010

It’s a new item for this cuddle-inducing weather.  Made in-house from whole apples.  If the health dept allowed cats, we’d allow you to curl up with your cat while you enjoyed your hot cider.

Photo(s) of the Day: Puffy Puff Pastry!

November 3, 2010

Yes, damn it, we make our own puff pastry too.  That’s Vincent working with the sheeter.  He looks enamored by his puff! Trust me, you would be too.
