Special Order Holiday Desserts!

December 19, 2011

DessertTruck

For the holidays, just as we did for Thanksgiving, DessertTruck is offering family-sized portions of our warm chocolate bread pudding, pumpkin pie with caramelized nuts and meringue, as well as a pumpkin cheese cake. They are $35 ea. and serve 6-8 people.

The famous chocolate bread pudding won a Throwdown with Bobby Flay and comes with your choice of vanilla or bacon creme anglaise.  We make it entirely from scratch at our store on the L.E.S. and use only top-shelf ingredients. Served warm, this is not your typical bread pudding.  Chocolaty,  velvety and luxurious, this bread pudding is a perfect way to end a heart-warming family meal.

Like nothing you can find in grocer’s dessert case, we handcraft this pumpkin pie with just the right amount of holiday spices. A thin layer of salted butter caramel below the filling waits to ooze out onto your plate.  Topped with meringue and caramelized nuts, we’ve filled this pie with the flavors and textures of the season.

The pumpkin cheese cake is simply two of your favorite things mashed into one – pumpkin pie and cheesecake!  Well, actually, it’s also topped with meringue and toasted almonds.

Email us at mail@desserttruck.com to preorder yours today. Just provide your full name and email address or phone number for confirmation.

Payment and pick up takes place at DessertTruck Works located at 6 Clinton Street, Friday, December 23 from 2:00 P.M. – midnight and on Saturday, December 24 from 2:00 P.M. – midnight.  If you wish to pick up your order on a different date, please include the request, and we will try to accommodate you.

We accept cash, Visa, MC, Discover and AmEx.

If you are interested in having your holiday dessert shipped to you, please provide your zip code so that we can calculate shipping.

One of My Favorite Parts of Working in Pastry

April 14, 2011

DessertTruck

This picture doesn’t quite do it justice, but this is one of my favorite moments in pastry – having a well-stocked and organized fridge full of pretty and tasty things.  This photo is from 15 minutes ago. The bottom pan is full of passion fruit & almond mousses (they’re getting a black sesame cookie on top) bound for tonight’s Hot Pot Party on St. Mark’s. Top top pan is full of bourbon caramel and blackberry butter cream macaroons destined for the Maker’s Mark headquarters in Kentucky.

The macaroons are sold at the store.  The mousses are only available at tonight’s party which is being hosted by Je’ Bon and Ghost Street.  Hope to see you at the store or at the party!  Jerome

New Dessert Addition!

April 14, 2011

DessertTruck

The caramelized apples will be on hiatus until they reappear next fall.  Temporarily taking its place is a super light, tart and wonderfully complex dessert: a pavlova made with a sesame meringue, banana-mango sorbet, marinated bananas and whipped cream.  Like the other large desserts on our menu, it’s $6 + tax.  Available only at our store on 6 Clinton Street.
